To mark the 20th anniversary of José González's uncompromisingly open and groundbreaking debut album "Veneer," the Swedish singer/songwriter returns for select European live shows. Among them a guest performance at the Theater des Westens in Berlin.
Recorded with the simplest of equipment in a cramped apartment in Gothenburg, "Veneer" achieved platinum status in Sweden and the UK and sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Apart from a short trumpet solo and reduced percussion, all you hear on the album is José's quiet voice and deftly plucked nylon strings of his acoustic guitar. Also thanks to the cover of "Heartbeats" - originally by The Knife - the album stormed the charts in several countries around the world and even reached the Top 10 in England.
On 15.02.2024 José González will perform not only his album "Veneer" in a special atmosphere but also other hits of his career live in the Theater des Westens.
