Following the acclaimed release of "Maxinquaye Reincarnated" in October, Tricky has announced a European tour for March 2024, which will also take him to the Theater des Westens on March 20, 2024.
In addition to the new versions of his groundbreaking album, he will also be performing tracks from the original album as well as other music from his extensive catalog.
Maxinquaye' remains one of the most groundbreaking records in British music history. Released in 1995, it was met with resounding critical acclaim and received near perfect scores from music critics across the board - Melody Maker described it as "captivating, original, sublime", NME said the record was "... unprecedented, captivating and reveals something new with every listen", Q Magazine ".... Tricky proves he's more challenging and eclectic than his peers", Pitchfork "An unrepeatable record that's so incredibly wrong it can only be right"... Even David Bowie took it upon himself to write a letter to Tricky in August 1995, proclaiming "I've loved Maxinquaye for some time". The New York Times and the Guardian wrote about the album: "... [an] album-length masterpiece" and "Time has not diminished the impact of this extraordinary record".
